 FAQs

  • Coaching is a place where I hold space for you to think through things in your life. It can provide calm and clarity, based on your own insights and understandings.

As a coach, I ask powerful questions, and let you decide where to go in the session. You create what works for you. I provide the time and space for that. I am your thinking partner!

  • In coaching, the coach asks powerful questions. The client decides what to talk about, and creates their own plans and insights. The coach provides the space for that thinking to happen. It is usually present and future focused.

In therapy, a therapist can help a client process and unpack past and present trauma and issues. There are many different therapy modalities.

In consulting, a consultant will take charge and provide directions. Here, things are led by the professional, where in coaching, it is more client led.

  • Healing happens in community. Coaching happens in relationship. Sometimes problems and projects cannot be fully resolved or explored in one session. Having weekly sessions available over a 10 week period allows for time to check in, see progress, and decompress.

Clients can schedule their coaching sessions at a frequency and pace that works for them. Some might want to meet weekly or every other week. It’s okay to miss or skip a week, and take a break if you are sick or going on vacation.

It is also easier to pay only once knowing coaching will be available for the next 10 weeks.

  • Talk to me about it in the exploration session. I am willing to work with you so you can benefit from this work.

My goal is to make coaching affordable and accessible so everyone can benefit from it.

I am also offering the program for free for women who volunteer to participate in my research.

  • I am trying to make my work accessible to everyone. If you can’t afford it, talk to me. If you can afford it, you can help support getting my work to others by paying extra or donating on my site.

I am keeping the cost low (suggested $2000 for 10 weeks) compared to other family court professionals and services.

This price includes 10 weeks of individual coaching (current suggested price at $1000 for 4 months), 10 weeks of group coaching including, lifetime access to courses, tools and exercises, and lifetime access to the private Calm Conflict community.

  • If you are interested in participating in my dissertation research, let me know during the exploration session.

  • I am developing an alternative to common family court practices (trial, mediation, parenting coordination, GAL, evaluations, etc). My research will focus on how effective my program is compared to what women have already experienced in family court. It is rooted in meeting people’s needs, helping them to feel safe and calm, and empowering them to have choice.

  • Not at this time. The Calm Conflict program is in development and being researched to make sure it best fits people’s needs while going through the court process.

If, in the future, it is made available to courts, it will be more of a resource on how to manage conflict and take care of yourself. It would be 100% confidential (except for situations where mandated reporting is required, like child abuse, threat of harm to self or others). The only thing I would ever need to let the court know is if you participated or not.

  • In many court practices (trial, mediation, parenting coordination, etc) your choice is either taken away from you, or you have to interact with someone who might not cooperate or collaborate with you. Calm Conflict differs because it educates you about what to expect in court, different conflict styles, and how conflict and trauma affect your physical and mental health. It supports you through individual and group coaching, and a private community. The coaching is a safe space just for you to focus on how to move forward in ways that work for you in your current situation. You get to decide what to focus on in the program and coaching sessions. There is ongoing support with others who are experiencing similar things.
